Impact7G is seeking a dynamic and motivated intern for the Summer 2023 season that will work out of our Johnston, Iowa headquarters! This individual will be able to work cross-functionally within our Shared Resources function and gain exposure to a multitude of different areas of our business. The various projects available are listed below in the job description. This position can work anywhere from 30-40 hours per week and will report to our Director of Human Resources but will work closely with other leaders across the company. If you are an Environmental Sciences major, this would be a wonderful opportunity for you to get some experience on the business/administrative side, while still being provided the opportunity to dabble in some fieldwork.

    Watershed Planning & Design Project Manager →

    At Impact7G, the focus of the Watershed Planning and Design Team is to create sustainable projects that improve water quality, create habitat, and integrate nature within our communities. We are currently seeking a Project Manager that will work closely with our multidisciplinary team consisting of environmental scientists, restoration ecologists, and environmental/water resource engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in managing projects that involve watershed assessments, stream and/or wetland restoration, urban water quality projects, and stream and/or wetland mitigation banking projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project implementation, tracking schedule, and budget, ensuring quality deliverables that meet contract requirements, and can effectively communicate across disciplines, with clients, and with funding and regulatory agencies.

    • The ideal candidate will have the following background and qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field
    • 2 years’ experience in project management
    • 5 years’ experience in consulting
    • Ability to use ArcGIS software, including ArcPro
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD

    Restoration Ecologist →

    The Restoration Ecologist will utilize their knowledge and experience designing and applying restoration ecology in native Midwest habitats. The Restoration Ecologist position is responsible for successfully developing, implementing, and expanding Impact7G’s conservation and ecological restoration services, including conservation planning, timber-stand improvement, prairie and niche habitat management, invasive species management, tree plantings, prairie seedings, controlled burning, and other natural areas management projects. Our restoration services are led by established professionals in the field who prescribe science-based practices tailored to site-specific needs, conditions, and objectives.

    Water Resource Engineer II →

    At Impact7G, the focus of the Watershed Planning and Design Team is to create sustainable projects that improve water quality, create habitat, and integrate nature within our communities.

    We are seeking a Professional Engineer who will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of environmental scientists, restoration ecologists, and environmental/water resource engineers in developing plans for stream restoration, wetland restoration/creation, and urban green infrastructure projects.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental, biological systems, agricultural, civil, or water resources.
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Iowa.
    • 5+ years of experience in water resources.

    This position can work in a hybrid or fully on-site capacity at our Johnston, Iowa or Coralville, Iowa offices.
