Contaminated Sites / Brownfields Manager →

Impact7G, Inc., an Iowa-based environmental consulting firm, is seeking a full-time Contaminated Sites/Brownfield Project manager to join our growing Company. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide management and technical assistance for local and regional contaminated sites and brownfield projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple contaminated sites/brownfield projects simultaneously for public and private sector clients.
  • Work on sites with complex technical and regulatory issues.
  • Complete environmental site assessments and site investigations, site investigation work plans, remedial action plans, closure reports, and bid specifications.
  • Prepare proposals and interview for projects.
  • Manage projects within budget, scope, and schedule expectations.
    Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agency staff.
  • Ensure high-quality project deliverables.
  • Develop and expand existing client relationships.
  • Position will not initially have any direct reports but does have staff available to assist. Potential to add direct reports in the future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science, chemistry, geology, biology, engineering, or related field
    10+ years experience
  • Minimum 7 years experience managing contaminated sites/brownfield projects
  • High level client and personnel management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Occasional overnight travel throughout Iowa and Midwest
    Strong work ethic and ability to perform work individually and in a team environment
    Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
    A positive attitude and professionalism are required

Preferred, but not required:

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training

NEPA Project Manager →

Impact7G, Inc., an Iowa-based environmental consulting firm, is seeking a full-time National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Project manager to join our growing Company. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work closely with clients and resource agencies to manage the NEPA process and lead the preparation of NEPA documents.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple NEPA projects simultaneously.
  • Strong technical and working knowledge of NEPA assessment criteria and state and federal regulatory programs.
  • Complete NEPA documents including, but not limited to, environmental assessments, environmental assessment worksheets, environmental impact statements, categorical exclusions, programmatic categorical exclusions, and categorical exclusion worksheets for various federal and state entities.
  • Prepare proposals and interview for projects.
  • Manage projects within budget, scope, and schedule expectations.
    Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agency staff.
  • Ensure high-quality project deliverables.
  • Develop and expand existing client relationships.
  • Provide training, leadership, and mentoring to existing staff.
  • Position will not initially have any direct reports but does have staff available to assist. Potential to add direct reports in the future.

Project Archaeologist →

A small and growing environmental consulting firm is seeking a Project Archaeologist to join our team. Impact7G is headquartered in Johnston with multiple office throughout Iowa and additional staff located throughout the country. The location for this position will be in our Johnston, IA location. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual with experience conducting small to medium size archaeological surveys, site testing projects, and data recovery excavations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct archaeological survey and testing in varying environments and weather conditions
  • Walk numerous miles over uneven terrain
  • Use hand digging equipment and screens for subsurface testing
  • Excavate test units and trenches
  • Carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Compose detailed notes of conditions, field procedures, and results
  • Utilize ArcGIS for planning, fieldwork, and report preparation stages
  • Identify historic and prehistoric artifacts in the Midwest region of the United States
  • Prepare report on investigations with assistance from a principal investigator
  • Lead small to medium size field crews
  • Work independently on projects as needed
  • Cross-train into other disciplines to become an integrated member of Impact7Gs’ team
  • Project-related hotel stays, and expenses are reimbursed by Impact7G

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in anthropology, archaeology, or a related field
  • Demonstrated field experience conducting archaeological investigations
  • Three years of experience with Midwestern prehistoric and/or historic archaeology
  • Knowledge of the Section 106 process
  • Ability to use GPS units and ArcGIS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to carry projects to completion
  • Knowledge of Midwestern and Plains archaeology
