This customizable awareness course can be tailored to your facility’s specific need. This course does not apply towards any professional licensure requirement and is only intended to provide a baseline knowledge of lead, potential sources, and potential hazards.
This course will inform participants of worker protection and safety when working with and around the lead-based paint. This class is a State of Iowa and EPA requirement for anyone working in or on pre-1978 housing and or child-occupied facilities.
Provides additional coursework and training, building upon the knowledge gained in the Sampling Technician/Visual Risk Assessor course, to perform lead inspections and identify and manage lead hazards. Discusses the responsibilities, evaluation and assessment, owner/occupant relations, XRF testing, IDPH and HUD guideline and regulations.
Provides coursework and hands-on training exercises to understand how to complete hazard controls or removal options of lead-based paint in accordance with IDPH, OSHA, and HUD guidelines and regulations.
Trains participants in interpreting data from building inspections, understanding laboratory analysis of samples, and provides a background summary of building systems.
