Lead-Based Paint Training

Impact7G’s Lead-Based Paint Courses have been approved by the Iowa Department of Public Health and enables successful participants to apply for a State of Iowa license. For additional information, please click on the following course titles:

Awareness

This customizable awareness course can be tailored to your facility’s specific need.  This course does not apply towards any professional licensure requirement and is only intended to provide a baseline knowledge of lead, potential sources, and potential hazards.

Lead Safe Renovator

This course will inform participants of worker protection and safety when working with and around the lead-based paint. This class is a State of Iowa and EPA requirement for anyone working in or on pre-1978 housing and or child-occupied facilities.

Inspector / Risk Assessor

Provides additional coursework and training, building upon the knowledge gained in the Sampling Technician/Visual Risk Assessor course, to perform lead inspections and identify and manage lead hazards.  Discusses the responsibilities, evaluation and assessment, owner/occupant relations, XRF testing, IDPH and HUD guideline and regulations.

Abatement Worker

Provides coursework and hands-on training exercises to understand how to complete hazard controls or removal options of lead-based paint in accordance with IDPH, OSHA, and HUD guidelines and regulations.

Abatement Contractor

Trains participants in interpreting data from building inspections, understanding laboratory analysis of samples, and provides a background summary of building systems. Provides coursework and hands-on training exercises to understand how to complete hazard controls or removal options of lead-based paint in accordance with IDPH, OSHA, and HUD guidelines and regulations.

Sampling Technician / Visual Risk Assessor

An entry-level course providing instruction on how to perform visual inspections and clearance testing.  Discusses the associated Iowa Department of Public Health rules and regulations associated with assessing risks or hazards visually, interim lead hazard controls, and clearance procedures.
