This past Wednesday, staff from Nahant Marsh Education Center, along with around 25 volunteers, planted 100 trees in the newly restored wetland area known as the Clarke Property, located just south of the Education Center. With such tremendous help trees were planted in record time, despite the wet conditions! Impact7G’s very own Reid Stamer even got his boots (and pants, and shirt, and gloves) muddy while helping to install tree protection. This first round of planting includes a variety of oaks, pecan, sycamore, river birch, and paw paw, among others. This diversity of species will be a boon for wildlife in the area, providing both food and cover.
