The former DICO industrial site located in Des Moines, Iowa spans over 43-acres, sitting directly adjacent to the Racoon River and in view of downtown Des Moines. The property has sat vacant since 1995 and has been a deteriorating blight plagued with a multitude of environmental problems. The Environmental Protection Agency designated the property a Superfund Site in the 1980s. In 2020, plans were initiated to develop the site into a professional soccer stadium and entertainment district.
In January of 2021, the City of Des Moines contracted Impact7G to perform asbestos sampling and inventories, along with hazardous materials inventory of the former Office Building and former Production building located on the site. Impact7G compiled all inspection material and compiled into a thorough project design for abatement. Following contracting, Impact7G provided air monitoring and abatement oversight, visual inspections and clearances, hazardous materials testing, and demolition oversight.
